May Card Sketch #2

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Sometimes when I make sketches first I am led by a particular theme or product. When I made this one I was organizing my ribbon stash, and thought that the ribbons could be a feature on a card rather than an accent. I kept everything simple to draw the eye to the strips. Cards really don't have to be fussy or complex to be striking!

Also remember to check out my other templates and printables in my digital stores!

There are lots of options available for this sketch. Do you use paper, cardstock, tape or ribbon for the strips? Well as I mentioned when I envisioned the sketch I "saw" it with ribbons. I tried to get it to work with patterned paper but it just wasn't happening for me, so I opted for clean and simple. I think this shows that you don't need TONS of supplies on a card, which is great for beginner card makers. After I stamped the sentiment I also thought this design would work well for sympathy/bereavement cards.

Another fantastic sketch, Di. It's one that I'll be using again and again. Care to see my masculine birthday card? http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/918806?cat=500&ppuser=87307
