Card Sketch February #3
Wednesday, February 20, 2008
Happy Sketch day! Yep another Wednesday whipping itself around fast! Amazing how quickly the weeks are flying by huh? This one is based on a card I did back in March last year. I think I went through a phase of the half flower, or partial flower on a page or card. This is a great card to use up those big flowers you have laying around, just fold em and put em on a card. Of course it doesn't HAVE to be a flower though, remember to use your own creative interpretation! As always the digital template is available for free download in my store, along with other templates I have for sale.
Tip: If you do use a flower as the main accent and want to stretch you're cardmaking budget a little further, simply cut the flower in 2 rather than fold it. That way you'll have flowers for 2 cards rather than one!

Have to say this is one design I love, so expect to see it again and again! Recently I got the chance to work with some fun product from Hot off the Press, and had a total blast with it. I hope to do a full review of the line later in the month but I will say right here and now that I LOVE this citrus line. These papers just POP right off a card!
Supplies:- Papers: Hot off the Press; Flower: Hot off the Press; rub-on: Royal; Frame embellishment: Provocraft;
I have to say I'm loving the little frame things from Rob & Bob (provocraft) as flower centers. I used them on some cards last month and I admit I went back to Big Lots this weekend and got 2 more packets, this time in hot pink and the above yellow. They are just so fun!.
As always the sketch girls blew me away with their cards this week! Just so much variety from one sketch. Most opted for the flower, but there are a few alternatives in mix too! I often get asked I thought I'd address the order in which the sketch girls cards get featured, and it's simply color order. Starting with mine, I go through the cards deciding which card flows better after another according to color. I just think it's easier on the eyes when things flow.
