September sponsor for Treasures to Scrap is We R Memory Keepers. They were extremely generous in their product and sent us a WHOLE LINE of product including, papers, ribbons, chipboard etc... just so many goodies. I got the Peasant collection.

One thing I must comment on is how much I love their product. Now Basic Grey etc I like, but WRMK well I pretty much spent the 3 days at CHA salivating over their booth, so that tells you the love I have for their stuff. I think its a mixture of the paper patterns being small and double sided, with a solid on the reverse (always a bonus for me).

I will say that I am STILL using the product. TONS left, so I am still using it! First up is a layout. Nice and simple, which you know I love.

Next project is this altered 8x8 mini book from dollartree. The cover is mulberry paper. I undid the spine (which was held together with raffia) added more sheets, envelopes and misc stuff. Then tied it back together using the WRMK ribbon. Love this! I'm using it as a creative dumping ground when my parents are here in Oct/Nov. All the dates are pre-stamped, and I added some penwork to unify the pages.

Lastly for today is this altered clipboard. As you can see it's pride of place on my fridge. The clipboard is from dollartree (noticing a theme here?) and was already orange! I just put paper on it, added chipboard and some chain etc. Using it as my ongoing shopping list. Very handy!

Another card made earlier this year, finally sharing some stuff. Lots to do, working on deadlines for Scrapstreet and other stuff. Visited Target dollarspot today. I was good! Only got a couple of packs of chipboard alpha's, pack of the paper, and an album. Oh and 2 of the calendars! They look awesome though I haven't opened them yet. Card sketch coming tomorrow...

Marvelous Monday!

I'm in a super cheery mood this Monday! This morning we had our bathroom floor tile installed, and two new toilets installed so we have BOTH bathrooms functioning again! YAY! Now I need to clean up and banish Bob back into the en suite bathroom. Speaking of Bob he's working from home today. But by far the BEST news today is my SSN came today! Woohooo! I can finally work.

So I thought I'd share this card I made earlier this year and dedicate it to the INS, and the SSN offices.

Ever "FELT" you could do that?

Wherever you look right now one of the hot trends is texture, be it foam or felt or other craft materials, it seems the scrapbooking world is diving into the kids craft supplies and coming out with foam letters and felt shapes to add to our projects.

I love buying the pre-made items but sometimes I definitely look at the supplies and think "hey I could make those myself!", so I did! Any craft store sells sheets of felt or foam in the children's craft area. To cut it out your shapes can use a few different methods. For my example I chose to die cut my felt in my Sizzix machine using a flower die (set #2 I believe)

I then assembled my card using the felt flowers. Very easy! As you can see I kinda used the sketch from last week.

If you don't have a die cutting machine, don't panic! This is the time to dig out those templates and use them, just tracing around them and cutting them out with scissors. Alternatively you can use one of the many pre-cut chipboard shapes that are in stores, and use those as a template. The possibilities are endless, go raid your kids craft supplies and get creating!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Bob and I celebrate 9 years of marriage today! Time certainly flies huh? For those that don't know, we got married in a hot air balloon over Las Vegas. We never do things 'normal'. The whole thing was pretty cool, well actually it was really hot but nevertheless it was fun! Certainly a day to remember.

We went out last night with a couple of friends. Today so far has been uneventful, not sure what we're doing really later. Maybe going out for dinner, who knows. I've created a couple of cards this week along with DT stuff, hope to share some projects soon!
