Tutorial: Using Scheduled Blog Posts

When I first started doing the whole blog thing "seriously", and I mean posting daily I really wished, hoped and prayed that Blogger would implement scheduled posting. It makes life so much easier, and they heard me! Because this month they announced that after some testing in beta, the scheduled posting would be live and available on all blogger blogs! As a 'serious' blogger this makes me so happy!!! But I thought I'd share how to use this nifty little feature!

Scheduled posting is GREAT! Suppose you want to post something on a specific date, like birthday greetings etc, then this scheduled posting feature is going to save you lots of time!

1. First open up your web browser, sign into blogger and bring up your blog editor. Click new post.

2. Once your post editor is loaded, simple fill in the boxes with the details, title and body text, adding photo's if you want. Once done click the little underlined link that says "post options"

3. Once you clicked the "post options" more text and buttons will appear. On the right is a box for you to fill in for date/time that you want the post to publish on your blog.

4. Once you have input the correct date/time for your blog to publish the post click PUBLISH! This won't publish it immediately I promise!

5. Once you click publish the window will change with highlighted text at the top of the screen telling you when your post is scheduled to go live!

6. Remember at any time before the blog publishes the post, if you want to go back to edit it, you can! Simply click "scheduled" in the 'your posts' options to find the post, and click edit. Simple! (this also works for drafts, and previously published posts, just click the appropriate tab).

7. When it comes to the correct date/time for your post to publish blogger will handle everything automatically!

Note: If you save as drafts, the posts will just be stored in your draft folder. If you edit them, change the date to a future date/time and hit publish, Blogger will automatically process them, and move them into the scheduled posts folder! Very cool!

And to prove this works, this is a scheduled post

Manufacturer Monday: Daisy Bucket - wk3

Week three of the Manufacturer Monday for May, which is focusing on Daisy Bucket. Still plodding on with the few papers and embellishments I have, amazing how you can stretch those supplies out huh!

This first card is one featuring a favorite design/sketch of mine. I just love this design for oddments of patterned paper, great for scraps. You can't really tell but a couple of the pieces are also die cut tags, I just cut the end off.

Supplies: Papers: Daisy Bucket, DCWV; Die Cuts: Daisy Bucket; Ribbon: Daisy D's; Charm: JoAnns; Rub-on: Target; Ink: Ranger;

Green tip: For the ribbon on the card above, I put the supplier as Daisy D's but it's just the handle off the box from their project sets. This was from the valentine projects I made, you can see the boxes and projects here. I just un-knotted the ends to take them out the box top them used the ribbon pieces on the card. Good recycling tip!

The card below I'm not really that keen on, its a bit 'off' design wise and I can't put my finger on why. Just one of those I do and get it shoved in the card stash.

sharing: best wishes card

Made a few cards recently for one heart... one mind. This one is a little different for me than usual in that it uses a pre-made card base and envelope. I just added the patterned papers and accents, and naturally I added an envelope liner to jazz that up a little

Edit: Yep Amanda Ann, its one of those Rob & Bob gel frames, by Provocraft. Love those things. They are a little on the heavy and lumpy side for cards so you'll need to add a little extra postage. But they do look cool on a card!

Stamping: for my friend

Time right now is getting to be a very important commodity around here. I find myself doing quick and easy cards more and more. This is one I whipped up in a little over 5 minutes, including cutting out the envelope! I know one of the things I hear over and over again is "oh I don't have time to make cards", well here is your proof that cards DON'T have to take all afternoon to make! Sure I could have made it more fancy, stitched the cardstock on, put thread through the button but right now I'm in a "get it done" phase.

I'm liking this design for sentiment stamps. Repeating the sentiment over to make it like a text paper almost. I've shared a few stamping projects this week, so make sure to check out the rest of the projects this week.

The weather here has gone INSANE! Yesterday was hot, but today they forecast temperatures in the high 90's possibly into the 100's!!! I got the pool checked this morning, 'cos we are gonna need it this afternoon!!! Crazy weather!!!

Theme Thursday - Congrats!!!

I've been on a "use my stash" kick again. I have also been sorting through my stamps and realizing I have a TON of stamps I haven't used. It's actually been pretty exciting to be able to SEE my stamps, even though the storage solution isn't finished yet. So much easier, and I will share my stamp storage idea once I get photo's taken :)

So onto the congrats cards for this weeks Theme Thursday. As I was sorting through my stamps I saw this little congrats set from Studio G. They are the little packs of acrylic stamps at Michaels and cost a buck a piece, which is a bargain. The card below has two stamps from different sets.

I also wanted to share this card, which was a quick simple card using the same congrats stamp. Just stamped it out 5 times, cut around the stamp and mounted onto cardstock.

Congrats cards are good to have on hand for many occasions. One of the reasons I decided to go neutral for a general congrats is to show my Mum some basic congrats. She needs one for her work for colleague who is leaving. They really have so many uses. Heck from "congrats on your new job" to 'congrats - you lost 10lbs' many occasions deserve to be celebrated!

Note: I made envelopes again :) I am going through that phase again too. I have to say I love DCWV stacks for this (or the slabs, anything in a pre-packaged stack). On sale you can get 180 sheets for $9.99 which I can make 180 cards and matching envelopes! MUCH CHEAPER than buying envelopes from stores like Walmart where the envelopes run approximately $3.50 for 50 invitation size envelopes! Hmmmm maybe I need to share examples of this and my other thrifty card making tips sometime? *pencils onto to-do list*
